You can find updated financial aid resources for public health degrees at Publichealth.org.

Annie’s Grants for Gardens (RFA open now, closes Nov. 1)  Educational organizations and schools can apply for funding from the organic food producer. Projects that receive funding should combine youth and education with gardening. Grant amount is variable and not specified- previous years it was capped at $500.

Whole Kids Foundation- Garden & Bee Grants (RFA opens Sep. 1, closes Oct. 15)

The Whole Kids Foundation’s School Garden Grants program provides money to teach kids how to learn about sustainability, conservation, food systems, community awareness and how food gets from seed to plate. Unlike some grant requirements set forth by corporations, this grant does not require applicants to be located in a region with a Whole Foods Market. $2,000 grants for gardens, $1,500 grants for bee hives and lots of free resources to boot!

Nature Conservancy- Nature Works Everywhere (Application OPEN now, closes Oct. 5th)

501c3 and schools are eligible to apply. $2,000 grants are given to schools across the US to build, amend and revitalize school garden projects with the core principle that gardens model nature on a relational scale. Title 1 schools are given preference. Food gardens will be awarded if they address an issue around access to healthy schools.

The Maryland Agricultural and Resource-Based Industry Development Corporation (MARBIDCO) has announced that the Next Generation Farmland Acquisition Program is now available to help qualified young or beginning farmers who have trouble entering the agricultural profession, because of relatively high farmland costs and lack of access to adequate financial capital to purchase farmland.

The Society for the Anthropology of Food and Nutrition (SAFN) is pleased to invite students to submit papers in competition for the Christine Wilson Awards presented to outstanding undergraduate and graduate student research papers that examine topics within the perspectives in nutrition, food studies and anthropology.

The Campbell Foundation’s Chesapeake Initiative seeks to accelerate the pace of nutrient reduction in the Bay through engagement of diverse stakeholders and partnerships between agricultural interests and environmental concerns that forge new paths of working together. Grants due October 1st, 2018
