Creating Learning Environments on Working Farms | NESAWG

September 14, 2016 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Hudson Valley Farm Hub, 1875 Mountain Rd, Hurley, NY 12443

Join us at the Hudson Valley Farm Hub for this twilight meeting to explore farmer and apprentice relationships. How can farmers and apprentices co-create a learning environment that hones their skills and meets their farming goals? We’ll be joined by our professional farmer trainees, who will share their experiences as first-year “ProFarmers.” A field-based activity is planned to demonstrate the unique learning environment we’ve been creating at the Farm Hub. In addition, the NOFA-NY team will lead a discussion about their recently produced On-Farm Skills Guide, a tool for farmers and apprentices to plan, monitor, and encourage the work-learn process.

Registration fees are $15/person or $25 for two or more people/farm. This event is sponsored by NOFA-NY through the NYFVI Beginning Farmer grant.
